I will keep a record of all the people, businesses and organizations that have bought the page, along with an archive of the pages posted and their active links. Eventually, buying the page will become prohibitively expensive, the experiment will end, and there will be a "Last Page Standing." |
| Q: | Why advertise on The Last Page Standing? |
| A: | A typical news paper ad costs hundreds to thousands of dollars and is seen by a limited number of people. An ad on The Last Page Standing costs tens of dollars and may be seen by hundreds of thousands of people. So one reason to advertise on the page is that it's very cost effective. However, the biggest reason to advertise with us is because you believe in the concept. The worth of the page is essentially determined by its popularity. More visitors, means more people see your advertisement. Initially, the page will have few visitors, so demand for the front page will be low and the page will cost very little. However, as people hear about the concept, the site will grow in popularity and more people will stop by to watch the experiment progress. Many of these visitors will browse the archives and see your page long after it has been replaced on the front page, so people who believe in the concept and post early will get a lot of millage out of their pages and links. I will work hard to bring new visitors to the site, especially in its early stages. |
| Q: | What can I post? |
| A: | You can post anything you like, from business advertisements to pictures of your cat. Each page consists of a title, text and an image that links to a website of your choice. I hope some people will use it for charitable purposes, but in the end it's up to the community to determine the content we see. |
| Q: | Is there content that isn't allowed? |
| A: | I will try to be as lenient as possible, however, please do not post anything pornographic, obscene or illegal (i.e. violates copywrite laws). These sorts of pages will be taken down. Pages containing disparaging remarks about non-public individuals will also be removed. |
| Q: | How long will my post remain on the front page? |
| A: | It all depends on supply and demand. If the site is popular, your ad might be gone in hours. If there is a lull in purchasing you might have the main page for days or weeks. I make no guarantee on how long your page will display on the front page. However, I do guarantee that, unless your page is banned, it will continue to display in the archives for as long as the site is up and your link will remain active to get the most mileage out of your investment. My aim is to keep the site up indefinitely. |
